It depends on the rseefrh rate of your tv screen. If it is given as more than 200Hz  then it will probably be ok for the Sky 3D. If it is less than that the illusion may not work very well.The Sky 3D transmission is only a trial to prove feasibility. There isn't an international standard for 3D tv yet. The Sky broadcast will require glasses with coloured lenses so these won't be expensive. The down side of that is that unless you're sitting almost directly in front of the screen you will not see the full 3D affect. The colour range will be poor and those that you can see will not be accurate because some  of the available pallet will be used up giving the 3D illusion. People sitting off-centre will see varying degrees of blurry picture. Anyone watching without glasses will see two blurry images and may become sick after a while.Wait until the industry has sorted itself out before you buy a new telly. My money will be on the Sony/Panasonic system which uses Active Shutter glasses. These will give a proper 3D image from any viewing angle, will be in true colour and the picture will still be excellent for those watching without the glasses. The down side is that they may only provide one or two pairs of glasses with each tv set and extras will be expensive (probably >a3100).
